The “Make in India” initiative, launched in 2014, is a national programme designed to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub by encouraging both domestic and international companies to produce their goods within the country. Its primary intention is to boost the manufacturing sector’s growth to 12-14% per annum and increase its contribution to India’s GDP to 25%, while simultaneously creating 100 million additional jobs.
