Amaravati

                                          Amaravati, renowned for its historic Amareswara temple and ancient ties to Buddhism, became Andhra Pradesh’s new greenfield capital following the state’s bifurcation in 2014. The green field capital city was developed through a pioneering land pooling scheme, transforming farmers into partners by promising them developed plots in exchange for their land. This dynamic approach aimed to create a transparent and people-centric capital, embodying the hopes of millions in Andhra Pradesh. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have both passed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which officially recognizes Amaravati as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh.
